Hi folks. Quick question to those of you who might have tested a 25th Anniversary 5-string at NAMM or elsewhere.....

Have anyone tried one with a strap? How does it balance? Is it a neck diver at all? I might be very wrong here but the body shape on the 25th Anni bass looks alittle smaller than on a regular 5-string Stingray and this might do that the body might weigh alittle less. And the upper horn not being as long might do that the balance is alittle off since the strap will attach to the bass further inwards. It is most likely just an illusion to the eye tho..... And also being aware about how thorough EB is when it comes to instruments, it would surprice me greatly if the 25th anni 5-string was even slightly neck heavy but I thought I´d pop the question. So how is a 25th Anni 5-string when it comes to balance? Anyone knows?

And, yes, I´m very interested in one of those. Pretty things indeed and I really like the fact that you can use it in passive mode too.

Sincerely//Jan

On the MM website it says that it was deigned for perfect balance...I don't imagine that Music Man would manufacture an instument that isn't well balanced. The headstock is a LOT smaller than the regualr ones, and those new tuners are supposed to be very light, and there is no string tree - seems to me avery measure has been taken to ensure the balance is perfect.

Although, I have never even SEEN one, let alone play one. I want one, really really want one.

Ah. Interesting. Yes the headstock actually looks like it´s much smaller than on a regular Stingray in the pics on the MM website. Did´t notice that first. And yes, as I stated earlier too, I would have been utterly surpriced if EB had produced a bass that wasn´t well balanced. One could have hoped that history had made me wise, but......

Yep, not surprisingly of course, but it would have been oh so nice to have seen a 25:th in a store. Now I'll have to wait until Jan has gotten one:D

The exchange rate is at the moment not in our favour. I can imagine that it´s hard to sell US made stuff in Europe now. Sad indeed. But that thing is about the prettiest thing I´ve ever seen with 5 (or 4) strings. And I need to surround myself with pretty things to compensate for my own personal faults when it comes to looks.
