I played a gig Saturday afternoon at the Texas Motor Speedway campgrounds for a bunch of bicycle riders that were over nighting during a 150 mile bike ride benefitting MS.
The first band that played was a SRV tribute band called VooDoo Blue. I looked up and noticed that he was playing a white sparkle Sterling. I didn't get much of a chance to visit with the bass player because they were loading up and heading for a Cinco de Mayo gig on the other side of the Metroplex. But I did get to show him the DD so he could ooh and ahh over it.
We played next and of course I played my DD SR5 HS.
The last band to play (I didn't get to hear them because we had to get to another gig.) was an AC/DC tribute band called Back in Black. I have to admit that I never even saw the bass from the front but it was obviously an EBMM. 3+1 headstock. Looked like it was probably a Sterling.
That was a rockin' Saturday for EBMM basses at the TMS.
