Off Topic 3 Hardwire Pedals and a Handwired Tubescreamer

I just put this together, to show that one pickup can deliver so many kinds of drive tones, with the right pedals. You don't need a high-output pedal to do metal. Just a good metal pedal.

What you are hearing are Seymour Duncan Seth Lovers running through an Ibanez TS808HW, a Hardwire Tube Overdrive, Valve Distortion, Metal Distortion and the Chorus.

On all pedals, the gain was only at half. The chorus settings were done to emulate a "Leslie". The bright picking tones were the courtesy of a 4.10mm V Pick.

I love those hardwire pedals. They almost remind me of EB with the way they actually sat down and thought about common issues with most pedals and did something to address them- not to mention the quality and sound. I use the reverb pedal in my setup and the Valve distortion was killer- probably the only dirt box I'd consider owning.

Nice sound clip. Were you cascading the pedals into each other, or just switching between them?

Er... No... I can't post the guitar I used, or I'll get banned... I'll give you a hint. It's got a carved top.

On hindsight, I should have used the Silo... The FRED would have delivered the right compression for the rock and metal tones, and the upper fret access would have been easier to play.

The rhythms were the pedals on their own. The solos were the HW pedals on their own, but with the TS808HW pushing them.

4:39 onwards uses the Hardwire TL2. I don't play the chugga chugga sort of Metal, so I reall don't know how to do it right.
