Hi,
I just purchased a 2004 ernie ball 4string sterling bass and i really like the way it plays. but i set my basses up a little different. In the band i play in, my guitarist plays in C-sharp with a drop B (on low E string). Instead of tuning my low E string up to B (and having the string extremely tight), i use a B string on my bass in place of the E string. All other strings are tuned down respectively: A string to F#, D string to B, and G string to E.
This method worked great on my Warwick but i find the mid range to be extremely louder than the low end.
I am guessing, the pick up is not close enough to the "alien" b string i put on.
I just got the bass off of ebay and i believe the battery was next to dead and i haven't been back to the practice spot to check it out with a new battery.
So, my question...
In addition to replacing the battery, can anyone recommend any other adjustments to be done to my bass to make the overall levels more even? Even further, should i make any other adjustments to make the new setup safe and practical for the bass.
thanks,
mike
