Hi. I'm interested in trying the 50s wiring mod on my JP6, but I'm confused how to do that. Does anyone have a diagram?
I use 50s wiring on my fender strat, I think it sounds more open, and somehow more natural.. And kinda eliminates the need for any treble bleed circuit

Looking at the wiring diagrams on the DiMarzio website, I'm sure somebody will correct me if I'm wrong but just move the tone control wire from the left lug of the volume control to the centre lug and "Bob's yer uncle!"

As you probably already know from doing it on your strat, the volume and tone controls can interact a little strangely the further the tone control is turned down (which some people really like).

50s wiring sometimes means different things to different people. Can you clarify which one you mean?

Volume posts backwards so that mixing two pickups works down to shutting one off (like a Jazz bass).

Auto-engage tone when turning down volume (volume always changes sound a bit but you can wire up the tone pot so that the actual tone pot kicks in, too).

Change order of tone pot and tone capacitor (doesn't do anything).

There's also treble bleed mods which are actually anti-bleed mods, aka they lift the treble a bit to work against the natural loss, although these are usually not named "50s mod".
