When did EBMM go from 6 bolt necks to the 5 bolt necks they have now? Thanks Frank

I heard it was right after Steve Morse took #1 to a grinder after he broke his left hand to make it easier to access the upper frets with his cast on. I don't remember when that was though.

As far as I know it was 1991 when the EVH-Guitar was introduced

I also remember the EVH being the first EBMM with the 5-bolt neck to be released (although Steve Morse had already sanded down his #1 Signature by that time). It seems like Silhouette and the Morse Signature (the only other models at that time) changed over to the 5-bolt neck by sometime in 1992 - it could have been as early as the end of 1991 but it was certainly done by the end of 1992. I'm pretty sure that the Lukes have always had the 5-bolt, but I'm not sure about the Albert Lees since the original design dated back to the 6-bolt era even though they didn't come out as a production model until after the EVH.

well,all i can say is that my silo was made in november 1991,and its a six bolt

I´m pretty sure Steve Morse did this in 2000. You can see him on "Depp Purple Montreux 2000" playing with a cast. His #1 was not yet sanded on this video. In the "making of Y2D"-video he explained that he had SMB-Gigs right after that were he couldn´t reach the higher frets so he used a grinder
Never seen ALs with 6 bolts. Regular ALs were introduced in 93 I think

Actually I haven't either - but I know the prototypes that had the "Axis" decals on the headstock did and I couldn't remember if any 6-bolts ever snuck out of the factory with "Albert Lee" on the headstock.
