Hey Guys,

Well I'm pumped to find out today that my GC employee discount kicks in today (there goes all my paychecks from now on :() and I was stoked to find out I can afford my dream guitar- A John Petrucci BFR 7-string. Now a few questions before I head to GC, so I don't waste a trip:

-Does GC even carry them in stock, or are they only special order?
-I know I pick color, but do I get to pick flamed or quilted?
-Is the neck the same as the regular JP's, just finished?
-How long does it take usually for a special order BFR nowadays?

And lastly,

How much do the guys at EBMM KICK ASS? ;)

I can only chime in on the second question: You don't get to pick quilt or flame...it's pretty much luck of the draw...you get what you get. Considering the quality of the tops (Phenomenal)...it's a win-win situation.

Come on you're a Musicman player - think positive!!:)

Oh I can't wait. The only reason I could be sad is 'cuz I get my license next summer. I'll be skipping out on a car for one of these ;)

GC should have some in stock. Check the inventory. The neck is not the same as the regular JP's, they are coated/finished. If you order one it will probably be about 6-7 months.

First EBMM guitars and employees do Kick A,

Some GC`s have them, if the store you go to does not then have them search all stores and they can get it shipped there.
Tops are not a choice but they all look great, neck is finished and sealed mahogony and the order wait time is as stated before in another post.
Good luck hope you find it.

Seeing how you live in Massachusetts, then I'm guessing you're going to the Boston store? I'm not sure.. but if you are, then good luck with that. All of the sales floor employees that I've dealt with there are total assholes.

Also, last time I checked.. no BFRs. They've got a Luke, Axis, and a Pearl Redburst JP6. They had a mystic dream, but it sold fairly quickly.

...and damn, dude! You're 15? That's a LOT of guitar for a 15 year old. You'll be coolest kid at school with a freakin' BFR.

Actually I'll probably head to natick or n. attleboro. Yeah, the boston guys are just salesmen though. And I actually think I might have to sell part of my rig to afford it, I might not be able to get a BFR, but i still want a EBMM, so bad. I'm playing an OLP now, and it isn't bad, but honestly in comparison it's like a tissue box with rubber band strings.

EDIT: Sorry, didn't know we couldn't advertise Non-EBMM things here. But I have gear for sale, I won't state what.

If you can't afford a BFR, you could always get always get the regular Petrucci model. I have a JP6 with all the options and I love it. I'm looking forward to buying my next one already. Good luck.

I can't remember ever seeing a new MM guitar in either one of those GC's (natick/attleboro) in quite some time. Basses - yes. Good luck in your search.

My vote would be the North Attleboro store, but that's just because it's my hometown (I live in Cincinnati now). I should stop in there when I visit for Christmas and see what their EB inventory looks like. I would love to check out a BFR in person!!
