Hi guys!

Need your opinions or response. I need a new gig bag to carry my SR5's. The problem is that I have very poor assortment in my lands like Acropolis | Aria | CNB | Custom Bag | DH | Epiphone | Fender | GATOR | Godin | Ibanez | Karl Hofner | On-Stage Stands | Proel | Rockbag | Stagg | Tanglewood that mostly feels like crap.

I need something thick and waterproof enough cuz this year the weather is very very nasty.

The only gig bag that I've found acceptable is Gator Commander ( Gator Commander Bass Gig Bag | Musician's Friend )

What do you think? Maybe someone used it with his Musicman basses.

The BEST gig bag I've ever used (and owned) is the Mono M80. It's the next best thing to a hardcase (almost a cross between a hardcase and gig bag).

Very light, EXTREMELY well made, but they aren't cheap.

One of the best investments I've made. I've used it a lot.

It will fit EBMM's no problem. It has protection all round including a neck protection area and a extra pad near the strap pin/end of the bass.

I have the paradoxically named Mono M80 Dual so I can carry both my SR5s around at the same time. I agree with everyone else that the Mono M80 is a good product. The SR5s fit in mine like hand in glove.

Have you checked teh fleabay?

To long to wait and I do not really want to buy anything abroad cuz the national customs service looks like pirates) I might be in Moscow next month. I've found 1 store there. But that Gator gig bag interested me because it sits like a backback that should be pretty comfortable. I've found several photos with m80 but was confused with it's low position. Looks like it can kick my butt every time.

Yes, the M80 hangs extremely low, but somehow that doesn't bother me. One would expect it to knock against the back of one's knees, but it doesn't. (One would also expect two SR5s on one's back to be cumbersome and heavy, but the M80 distributes the weight beautifully.)

The upside of a low hanging gig bag is that you don't knock the headstock into every door you pass through.

I have butt-bonking low hanging bags, and doorway-smacking
tree-branch snagging high hanging bags. Pick your poison :-/

I tend to prefer the butt bouncer, putting the safety of the ax
ahead of personal comfort. With the high hanging bags, I can
walk/run faster cuz there's no butt smacking, which allows me
to really get a move on so I can bonk the head really hard on
a tree limb, doorway, overhead sign, etc.

Since you don't post which country you're in, it's difficult to advise you when we don't know what the choices are.

I wrote the list of brands available. I live in Ukraine if it changes something. I thought someone at least heard something about this Gator Commander.

I've heard of Gator and a few of the others like Rockbag, Fender, etc., but the models could be completely different. Do any of the EU dealers ship to the Ukraine?
