i got this reply from steve this am....

(i asked him) how's the new y2d comming ?

it's pretty much done, the plastic pieces aren't yet delivered for the pickups, but other than that, they are done with it.* The single coil seems to work pretty good in light of the fact that the bridge pickup is a little hotter than number 1 anyway........

Wow!
I bet the process for developing this guitar has been just as interesting as developing the guitar itself.
I can('t) wait for mine. I'm just gonna go out side where I won't hurt anything and play guitar with my pants off. (Don't act like your not impressed)

(No depends for me thank you)

Well, so much for any future family vacation plans to Arizona.

It would have been nice to see the Grand Canyon.....

(please insert NorM / Canyon reference jokes in any following posts)

The Grand Canyon is plenty deep enough
I don't know what that means

I think Tommy was Steve's guitar tech for a while (correct me if I'm wrong Tommy).

I think Tommy still *is* Steve's guitar tech when Mr. Morse plays in Tommy's area. But we'll let Tommy give us the real scoop..

until last month skoots lyndon has always been steve's (and larue's ) main right hand for his guitar handling on all gigs......purple, s.m.b. & dregs. but i have been on the crew working w/ skoots and steve doing field guitar & amp repairs , retubing the old marshalls , & overall rig troubleshooting. usually whenever steve is in the northeast . even some amp experimenting at steve's studio. (what an experience !!!!!)
i'm very sad that skoots has retired. i'm not good enough w/ words to accurately tell you how cool skoots is. we have had some good times beyond discription giging out there . they offered the job to me at one point......but when i saw last years deep purple schedule.......i had retract due to the amount of time i would be required to be overseas ....leaving my 13 year son for too much time......which is also why skoots is retireing . steve was perfectly understanding of my situation....as his kevin is the same age.....and steve's biggest stress by FAR is leaving him for long periods of time also....so he was truly understanding (whew!!!!) plus...he told me i was too good a player to be his tech anyway.....

he couldn't figure out what i was laughing about :D
anyway...steve has a new tech.....who will hopefully make him as comfy as skoots ( & sometimes i ) did. i'll be checking on him personally in the next few weeks when purple gets to the northeast part (as usuall) of thier current tour. :(
