y'all need to remember that our drummer fri night (www.johnferraro.net) is gonna be the only drummer.....& will be playin off the top of his head. so..... the tunes we pick will need to be on his radar screen. i'd love to do what if by the dregs...or dayride by chick corea.......but i don't expect john to know tunes that complicated off the top of his head.
we may wanna keep our song selection fairly simple arrangement wise. i think someone used the description crowd pleasers . some widely known material will typically work the best.

i can't wait to groove w/ john ferraro !!!!!!!!!

I'm trying to convince NORM to play the lovely classical piece POINT COUNTERPOINT by SM.

We were worried that it might be one Steve chooses for SAT concert.

I would love to play my solo stuff. But I think the group thing is more important. If there is time and everyone who wants to has had a chance to play I will be available.

Tommy has a very good point there I guess. Mr Ferraro has to play everything by heart, so we probably should check things out with him too I guess. BP or anybody else of the EBMM factory, is there a possibility to do this? I mean, when Tommy has a somewhat final list, can we ask Mr Ferraro which songs are go's and no go's? Just let us know. And of course, how long can we play, or better, make some noise?

And on the sixth day He created Ernie Ball Music Man guitars. And He saw everything was OK. The seventh day from then on was kept for playing the damn pieces of art and enjoying them. Oh Lord, BP you are very good to us. Keep it up, the 16th of September can't come fast enough...

Cheers, T.

Hmm..

Well, Pete and I were hashing around with "Take Hold of the Flame" by Queensryche.

Pete: I gave it a listen tonight and I could easily play it if you want.

However, we need a bass player for it, and if this thread takes root, we'll probably have to scrub it 'cause its too obscure to be considered a 'crowd pleaser'.

Maybe when everyone has 'signed up' and paired up with a bass/guitar combination, that list can be submitted to John Ferraro and he can decide how many of the songs he knows or can learn in time for the show, and then he'll make the cuts?
