I just traded a non-MM bass for a Sterling By MusicMan SB14 Sterling single-H. I have to say that this bass is superb; it's very similar to my SR4 (except for the slightly narrower neck and the pickup-selector switch). It's black with rosewood board---not as pretty as my other basses, but the price was certainly right.
It's in excellent condition; most of my time was spent polishing it up, running Wonder Wipes on the rosewood fingerboard, and just a tiny adjustment to pickup height and intonation.
The only thing I had to correct was a slightly high 15th fret on the G string. I found this while practicing Steely Dan's "Peg," where the opening riff has a two-note chord up there. The 14th fret A on the G buzzed; ten minutes of careful work lowered the 15th.
With my practice amp, it sounds much like the SR4; we'll see how it sounds in the band room tomorrow...
