Hello everyone,
I posted about 11 months ago stating that I was going bonkers while waiting for my first Stingray 5 to arrive. Sorry for not posting sooner; I was practicing.
I am not kidding 5 hours a day, everyday.
Anyway, love my bass however, I found the almost stingray 5 of my dreams at a music store (ray 5 piezo in trans blue). I want my next bass to have piezo and I also want it fretless. This one is fretted. Would it be possible to send it back in to Ernie Ball and have them replace the neck with a pau ferro one? Also, even though the matching headstock is not always appealing to me, this one looks soooo pretty with it. Would it then be possible to get it with a matching headstock even though the color is no longer used on stingrays?
If it is disturbing that someone would replace a perfectly good neck, I could always attempt to remove the frets myself first, then send it back with a damaged neck with an excuse to replace it.
Since I am asking, the Trans blue is a second choice color, I just love the trans. finishes and my first choice is the discontinued trans green, which I found one but it is fretted and no piezo and I understand that the peizo cannot be done as a retro-fit. Would it be possible to custom order a bass that had a discontinued color or would I be stuck choosing from the colors available?
Just a thought. I really want a bass with piezo pick-ups.
Thanks,
K.
