Hey gang. I've been a registered member of this forum for a few years but have not participated much. My former handle was "tealaxis". Well, I no longer own a teal axis. BUT I do own 2 Sterlings, white sparkle, and blue dawn; I play both bass and guitar. So, yes, I'm in the right place. Guitar comes first.

I'm sure I'm not alone in saying that I own and play guitars from other manufacturers. And am a member of their respective forums. But something has been missing for me. So I've come back full-circle to EB MM guitars. I'd like to contribute more than I did previously. But most importantly, I hope to make some new friends as well.

Hey ex-tealaxis!!!

Well, you didn't mention it - what guitar did you get in place of the Teal Axis???

And, how come you aren't "sparklebluesterling" now??LOL:)

Welcome Back from me as well....i think you will find a few of us own other brands as well as our beloved EBMM's but they truly are the best value and some of the best sounding and playing instruments on the planet....

Thanks for the kind words. It's good to be back.

I dug up some pics of my former board namesake:

I could kick myself for letting this one go.

TNT asked what replaced the teal axis. The real question should be, "what did the teal axis replace?" I had a white sparkle Luke II (now residing in Germany) that replaced a red Luke I. I just couldn't get along with the v taper on the necks. I gave it the old college try, TWICE! I think financial hardship (at the time) caused the sale of my Axis.

As for my other guitars... I'm a Hamer guy as well.

After recently playing a friends two EB MM's, an amber Axis and a black stained EVH, I realized what I've been missing.

I may have to reclame my former board name... somethings in the works! I'll keep everyone posted.

Hi Bobby,

Welcome (back)!

I too have played many Hamers (and still respect the company and the fine craftsmen that make them), but a long road has brought me here. Now, my #1 is a fully loaded Petrucci (the piezo is outstanding).

If you participated on the HFC, what was your username? Mine is the same on both discussion boards.

Enjoy,
Marc

I thought the top was a little different from the first one... Maybe just the lighting, though?

Thanks for the kind words gang. I'm here to stay!

Marc, the clue is my name here, ebmmboy_. I used the underscore again. Over at the HFC I'm hamerboy_. Good to see you here.

The pics I've posted are of two different guitars. The first are of my original "teal" Axis. The new ones are of its replacement. I'll have to admit that the top on my original Axis is more to my liking. BUT, my new one has the color I was after. Save for some minor pitting on the bridge it's in mint condition. I don't think I could be happier. Well... not 'til I find that elusive black sparkle LUKE.

Correct me if I'm wrong. But I don't believe that "teal" was ever listed in the catalogs. Would this officially be called trans blue?
