I have had my share of basses, most have come and gone without much fanfare but there are a few that I miss from time to time. Bare with me here... I loved my old Kubicki and had it been a 34" I probably would still have it. I also loved my Wwick Stream ProM (don't beat me yet, I promise this is going somewhere). It was a very nice bass, looked good, aged well, and was actually affordable.

I have been kind of nostalgic for the past few weeks and actually was considering hunting down a ProM to rejoin the stable... then tonight happened. A friend's band was playing out (after work party) and I was asked to sit in for a set and play his... you guessed it - Streamer. One song in and I realized why it was gone and why I have 3 Bongos. Now, honestly there are somethings I still like about the bass... but my love of the Bongos wins out time after time.

I don't know why I doubted my original judgment, but I know better. Next time this happens, some one please slap me! Now if I could just talk the wife into the Bongo HS I've been wanting

You just can't go back.

It's like sleeping with the ex-wife.

Never quite thought of it that way... I actually felt a bit guilty when I was playing the other bass... well, not guilty, but dirty. It was all wrong and not in a good way. Couldn't fine the tone, wasn't cutting through - the neck felt great but that was it, nothing else... nada! Jack, you more than most will understand all of this - there is NOTHING like a Bongo.

I did a set up today on my Dargie and I have got to say it is smoking. I'm hopefully going to set Kermit up tomorrow and I won't be looking back. Damn I love my basses!!!!:D
