Hello all!

After so many years of keeping my guitar in mint condition, I'm sad to say I've managed to make a small dent on its fretboard... You wouldn't believe how I got it there. Anyway, is there a way to fix this? If not, what can be replaced? The fretboard only? The whole neck? And what would be the cost?

It has one of the "old" black sparkle finishes, so I consider it one of the very few.

Thanks in advance!

How small is it. I have heard that sometimes those can be steamed out, not sure if that is possible with the fretboard though. May be better off with a filler if its small enough. If its small enough though and does not affect playability - I say leave it be. It's got a story to tell now.

It's very small and it doesn't affect playability at all. You can barely see it. Even if I ever sold the guitar, the buyer wouldn't notice. It's just that I personally know it's not perfect anymore :( And I want it to become perfect again. You know how it is... this specific guitar is way too precious for me. Anyway, do you know how much the fretwork would cost? Or if that doesn't work on fretboard, how much would a new fretboard/neck cost along with the work needed to bolt it on the body, tune it all etc?

Customer service is probably your best bet for a repair advice and/or quotes on replacement. I gotta believe that a new neck is going to be a pretty penny though. I'm "guessing" at least 400-600 to replace.

It's not just a guitar.

It's my little baby :) I love it, I want to keep it nice and shiny. So, 400-600 euros or usd? 400 euros is just a bit too much for me to handle at the moment, however, 400 usd is not and I would gladly give it. Unless there is a way to change just the rosewood and not the whole neck, which I suppose would cost even less.

I certainly would NEVER replace the neck/fretboard for that!!!

If it were mine, and yes, I've been through the pain of dinging my guitars over the years, I would just leave it.

The most I would do is "wood filler" and a do a perfect color match - no one will ever know!! Out of sight -out of mind.

Always a problem giving advice when you cant see it - some small dents can come out using some steam and a heat source. Find a local luthier and pay him a visit - he'll be able to recommend whether or not anything can be done.
