Hey All,

I recently saw a picture of a candy apple red Sterling 4H with five knobs instead of four. Was there an limited edition of the Sterling that came with a four-band EQ? What else would account for the extra knob?

Jess

most likely that is the Piezo option...the 5th knob is a pan between the stock humbucker pickup and the piezo pick ups on the saddles at the bridge i.e. volume, pan, treble, mid, bass...a very nice addition to a fretless bass

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the bass in the picture a StingRay?

And is the knob for pan and not volume? On my MM guitar, there is two volum controls and no pans.

Yes it is, but that would be the piezo 3 band version, the knobs will be volume, blend, treble, mid, bass, i think. but not necessarily in that order.

Knobs in order from headstock side to bridge would be Volume, Piezo Blend, High, Mid, Low. Same set up on a Sterling Piezo also. Bongo adds a 3rd Stack know for Piezo Blend. JOSH

Have a look here; ;)
