A friend of mine bought a Tribute Axis and brought it over today, not to mention it took Ups 2 weeks to get it to Calgary as they lost the waybill. Here it is with an old friend by it's side.

Oh my, oh my. I love green guitars and that is a beauty with an incredible top. Really great looking axe. Very eye catching indeed.

This guitar has made two debuts here, lol. I must admit, it is a sick top.

I don't know why you returned it, once I set it up it plays amazing. It's in the midst of the cold Canadian winter now. It seems to be loving it here anyways.

I'm glad your friend is having better luck with it, its a great top! I'm actually trying to come back to the family right now, just have to sell my current "sig" guitar. You guys all know Im a VH fan and can probably guess what $3k guitar I'm talking about. Great guitars but they lack a certain feel of the ebmm that I know crave lol

Wow,
I hope the issues were fixed? It looks stunning. I shoulda jumped on it when it became available !

The Axis was no harder to set up than any other Axis, when he brought it over the action was a bit high. First of all the bridge wasn't sitting right and that was first to be adjusted and once that was fixed I adjusted the neck which had a quite a bow, when i went to adjust the truss rod, it was backed off all the way, thats the main reason for the action being high, and once the neck was tightened up with the truss rod, the action is where it should be and it plays awesome. Another friend of mine had the same problem in 2000 with the purple Axis I have now, he just said trade me please please please. I traded a Wolfgang for it, took the bridge off and readjusted the bridge and that was my first Musicman. The only thing I really didn't like about the Green tribute was the Headstock and the body were two different shades of Green, the maple neck must be a way harder maple because it didn't accept the stain very well, the Top defiantly makes up for that though! Who's going to NAMM?

Neale,
That's awesome. I knew nothing about setups until I bought my first EBMM. I love using my Stewart Mac kit & perfecting these things. Check your PM. Please contact me before you make your trip to New Orleans. Let's get together, bro.
