Hello All. I just went 7 days without playing guitar, and as soon as I get all my emails caught up - I'm going to crank it up and scare the gentle forest creatures.

We went on a 7 day Caribbean Cruise to Grand Cayman, Montego Bay (Yuk) and Costa Maya Mexico. We had a great time, but I was afraid to bring an axe - the ship's liability waiver only allows a maximum of $100 for lost, stolen or damaged items - all my guitars are worth slighty more than that.

I guess I should consider an inexpensive travel guitar.

What does everyone else do for trips?

OLP Axis knock-off. I had one (airport crushed it....hehehehe) but for practice on those road trips, not a bad option.

I'm with Koogie here on this one the OLP's are a great deal all in all fo what you end up paying for them. Get your self a Smokey amp and a gig bag and your good to go.

I have a smokey amp and highly recommend them. They are small and they take up no room what so ever. Battery operated, it's the size of a pack of cigarettes. Heck, they make a model out of a pack of cigarettes. I have one, I live in Marlboro, so I got one in the original Marlboro pack.

Bruce, Zinky use to work for Fender. Started making these mini amps as a cheap way to experiment with a small portable amp for guitars. They now make a bunch of diferent type of amps. The Blue Velet is from what I've heard an awesome 25 watt amp. Most people that own them love them.

I just do without when I'm on a trip. It's like George Lynch said about putting down his guitar for long periods... "what I lose in technique I gain in perspective".

I totally agree ...
I just spent 10 days in Colombia without a guitar and now I'm back. I lost a bit of technic but I gain a lot of inspiration ...

Travels are good with or without a guitar :)
