We had a great night Saturday at our Hardyston Concert in the Park. Here's a shot of my cousin & I with our funny hats. ;)

Weather was perfect - low 80's dipping into high 70's as dusk fell. Slight breeze. Beautiful summer night.

My Sterling was pumping - big time. Definitely making a play for keeping the Number One slot with a new Bongo due to arrive next week. First gig with my Ampeg SVT-4 Pro and Avatar speakers was incredible - made a great impression.

Also, first gig with Sony ACID Music Studio handling about half of the drum tracks - made a WORLD of difference over the SR-16. Wow!

The crowd was completely engaged - we had about 200+ people show up thanks to my wife promoting us like mad (a "good" crowd for these events is around 125). At the close of the show I was told by the township organizers that this was the largest crowd they've ever had and, by far the most engaged crowd - we had them dancing up a storm.

Even the ol' ladies!

Was a great feeling! Not only did they ask us back for next summer, they've asked us to open the series which includes local cable-channel taping and airtime.

Autographs anyone? :p

Looking good
and how fortuitous that your hat matches your bass. :D

^ +1. That Guitarist really lets the side down. Has he gone a bit Elton in his persuasion?

Only the other guy's hat is funny.

Sounds like you guys did well - congrats.

Jack

Completely agree on the hats! In fact, my cousin had the nerve to ask me "Are you gonna wear that hat again!?" as we prepared to go on.

And yes, we rocked the house and achieved exactly what we were after - to double their normal attendance and infuse a bit of life into the event. We were not satisfied to simply play to a bunch of folks sitting around in their lawn chairs.

We had the dance-floor hoping most of the time - Mike and I joined some folks on the dance floor as well (wireless plug) at times. And those that stayed in their lawn chairs clearly were snapping, bobbing and clapping along.

Bad, bad, bad, Adelucia. Your cousin does not play an EBMM guitar... :D...

Still working on him. He is our main singer/front man and is completely engaging - damn near perfect up there. As for guitar, he's the third guitarist and primarily provides our backdrop "acoustic guitar" sound. He started playing the Parker this year because it creates a phenomenal amplified acoustic tone and weighs 4lbs - his bad back being the other determinant factor.

Not at all... But he is very aware - and we kid him all the time - about is "metrosexual" appeal. :p

I just added a second Avatar 4x10 NEO cabinet to my rig. I really love them.
OMG! I love these things! Suddenly going up and down the stairs is no issue and the tone is fat and punchy - just the way I like it. I may swap the 1x12 for a 2x12 just to balance the power handling.
