Spectorbassguy, that's one wicked looking bass. I thought about ordering something nice like that on mine, but couldn't get past the black/black.

You think the LORD will mind you endulging yourself like this???

Man that friggin' ROCKS! I am also thrilled that I inspired you to do that. The silo guitar, and the sting ray for that matter, have anniversaries coming up. I would hope that this feature would be part of the package. Possibly even add matching inlays or just dots to complete the package. I know this is the bass board but still.

Smoove, I don't know why the Lord keeps on blessing me and my family. But He does, so I just say thanks to Him every day and do my best to spread His Word. Since I got saved at Promise Keepers a few years back, the only place I play bass now is for my church and for various Christian Events. In fact I'll be playing bass with a singer named Mindy Sawyer for JesusFest coming up Memorial Day weekend. Check the website: Audio A, Rebecca St. James, Skillet, etc.......

 And I'm quite nervous about the fact that I've been asked to play trumpet with Ron Kenoly's band. Have you ever heard Ron Kenoly? LOTS of brass - Oh Lord give me strength!

God Bless!:D

SpectorBassGuy, sounds like you're receiving blessings all around! Like you, I will only play for my church's Sanctuary Choir, and other music ministries. I've promised our LORD that I'll never use the gift HE's given me to do anything except glorify HIM.

I'll be praying for you as you serve HIM; please do the same for me. Praise and honor to OUR KING!

Hey, glad to find another trumpet/bass player. What is it with trumpet players taking up bass guitar? I know several but most quit playing trumpet.

Oh this is definitely stretching me big time. I played trumpet when I was in grade school thru my 2 years at a Junior College. That was almost 25 years ago though.

My Dad was band director in our town and never pressured me yet always made any instrument available to me. The one thing I did keep from my high school days was my Vincent Bach Stradivarius Model 37 M-L Bore trumpet that Dad bought me when I was in Junior High (is that support or what?). When I was a sophomore I taught myself bass and enjoyed that the most so here I am.

Not that you asked but what the heck:cool:

I actually started college as a music major with a scholarship as a trumpet player. Didn't like to go to classes other than music though, so I dropped out after a year. Picked up bass in '80 then picked up a soprano bugle (3 valve) in '96 when I became a Shriner. Now I'm the Captain of the Hella Shrine Drum and Bugle Corps and also President Elect of the Texas Shrine Drum Corps Assn. (whew). So now I play bass in rock bands, bugle in the Drum Corps and trumpet in various other groups.
