Oldbluebassman, I did a check on the website. It is cool but I'm afraid when it comes to the reliability of their 'product reviews', I don't know...everybody is just so excited about his personal instrument that he gives it a 5 star rating. Not that I will actually depend on the reviews, but the chaps there should do sth so that the site won't end up like bgra.net. In www.bgra.net there is absolutely NO instrument or amp that gets under 85-90%! Period! Go ahead and check it now! Make several random selections!

Hehheh. You gotta take any online reviews with a grain of salt. Almost all of 'em are stinkin' A+ or within the 90 percentile. I used online reviews when I bought my current ESP. All the reviews gave the thumbs up. Go figure.

I know! And usually when it comes to low marks, they tend to give the worst posiible. This is because most of the guys always wanted, let's say a Pedulla, but they couldn't afford it, and when they asked the salesman to try it, he told them that he cannot give it to them. Or a schoolmate has it and the 'reviewer' is just soooo jealous.......

To be quite honest I never bother with the equipment reviews. To my mind that is the least important aspect of bassworld. It's a site run by the members for the members. Everyone is friendly and everyone is welcome.

The forum has lively debate, a great exchange of views, transfer of knowledge and it allows one to make friends with other bass players. There's a good age distribution from about 13/14 up to me - I reckon I'm the oldest. I've no idea where you fit in.

I've made some good contacts, met a few of the members - one came to a gig of ours earlier this month - and those in Surrey and Sussex are having an informal meet in Brighton next Saturday. What more could you want?

As a one make forum this is excellent and the Dudepit allows one to get more of an international flavour and pick the brains of some who are perhaps a little more knowledgeable or who have a different slant on things.
