OK so we know now how to sand, oil and wax, however what I atleast don't know is which neck requires the process. I have a Silo S-S-S 1996 and the neck seems a tad darker than my 2002 Silo, plus the 1996 Silo's neck seems smooth, almost as if it has a sealant of sorts. Also, near the headstock it looks like there is a faint line, that follows the necks profile, which separates two distinct regions of the neck. I guess I can take pics...
On the other side of things, my Washburn's neck feels rougher, grainy, natural-like...so I definately think this one needs the procees...

When the neck starts feeling rough or lumpy...that's when it needs it...the line you see is where the headstock is finished and the rest of the neck isn't...word up! Rock!
