Question About Piezos on the Petrucci...

So I've had my JP-6 for quite some time already and all I can say is that it is perfect. Well near-perfect to be honest because I found a small "problem" with my piezo.
Whenever I activate my piezo by putting the piezo switch at the top of the body to up, the volume decreases somewhat dramatically. It sounds beautiful but the volume change makes it less than ideal to use.
Therefore I always put the switch in the middle position which activates both piezo and the normal pickups and the volume stays pretty much the same. However is doesn't sound quite as good as just having the piezo on.

So what I am asking is if this this happens to everyone or if it is just my model?

Also, do you guys have any suggestions apart from using volume/boost pedal?

No, partially because i have no idea how it works, I have not messed about with anything on the guitar apart from changing string because everything was set-up perfectly.

Can somebody please explain the MIX trim pot in detail?

The mix pot controls the volume of your piezo. You just use a phillips head screwdriver to adjust it. Counter-clockwise turns the mix down, clockwise turns it up. I always try to adjust the mix to be near the same volume as the magnetic pickups.

Before I adjusted mine - I put a dab of Tippex on the Trim pots so I would know where the factory setting was.
