Hello all! Glad to see you again))
I have a question about silent circuit on EBMM SS SSS with piezo.*
Yesterday I was changing battery on the guitar and I've noticed absolutely no difference in sound with and without battery. The level of hum stays exactly the same. I'm using stereo/magnetic output of the guitar. Is that ok or humcancelling effect of the silent circuit must be more noticable? Piezo works ok when the battery is in. Thanks in advance! ))

Maybe the hum is from your cable or amplifier. The Silent Circuit can't do anything about hum originating outside of the guitar.

Something sounds off here. Do you have a local dealer you can take this to? Else I'd suggest you get in touch with the customer service folks. The level of hum should be the same from either output.

One experiment you can do is remove/insert the battery using the passive (stereo) output, and see if you notice any difference.

Is it new? Maybe a previous owner put stacked (hum-canceling) single coils in so the silent circuit isn't really doing anything.

Yes, it's absolutely new, straight from the factory. I've noticed the problem while I was changing the battery - no difference. I think the best way is to take this to the local dealer. Thank you very much for your advices! :)

Hmmmm, that doesn't sound right. I have a Silo Special HSS, non-piezo, but my guitar does not work at all without the 9v battery installed.

Is it possible the guitar has humbuckers in it, and the battery is for the piezo, and the guitar doesn't have silent circuit at all?

Either way, hope you get back to enjoying your guitar!

If you buy a new guitar and have any issues, you should contact your dealer so they can sort things out. That's why you pay them the big bucks ;)

Coolegg- one thing to consider is that the 9V battery may not be sitting snugly in the compartment. (Different 9V batteries fit differently.) You can tell if you open up the compartment and push the battery in a bit- it might not be making contact with the lugs. In the same vein, sometimes those little connection lugs need to be slightly pried up to make contact properly. Your dealer can help you sort things out, as can EBMM customer service.
