Can the Majesty produce some nice strat-like tones?

The current youtube videos are no help at all (to me).

And does any one no if they are stocked in any canadian stores?

I shouldn't be looking, but I'm gonna. I'm weak. so weak. I must have one...

I'd say the Maj can do "a" strat sound, but not so much strat 'sounds'...

Indeed. This video doesn't clearly showcase the mid-magnetic position (that's the Strat sound on the JP6), because it has some crunch added to it. Roughly comparing only by this video, however, it seems like the Majesty sounds more like a Les Paul, whereas the JP6 sounds more like a Strat.

I'm still looking forward to see a demonstration of all possible clean tones of the Majesty, without any effects, though. Maybe one of the guys who own one could record a little vid for us... ?

Just got mine yesterday, and it can cut a little like a strat , but not to purists. From a versatility standpoint, the Maj has more on tap than most guitars, I just don't think I would class a strat as one of the top tones avail.

I've been trying to get a strat sound out of my JP12 recently to play some SRV. I find that the middle position pulled (split coils) mixed in with piezo (middle position top switch) sounds pretty spanky/twangy. I turned the treble down and bass up on the piezo's on-board EQ and its pretty good to me. It doesn't have all the twang of a strat, but its close. Mixing in the piezo adds a lot of dynamics to your picking for sure, and helps get that Texas chunk if you're amp is set right.

This - the middle position (and push-split) is quite spanky - You're probably not gonna be busting out any Stevie Ray Vaughn, but it's good for cleans (especially blended with piezo) and good, bright, full chords.
