I'm about to send in my order for an ASS w/MM90s. I know, then the hard part comes, waiting for four months!

But... I'm still unsure about whether to go with cherry burst or honey burst.

I've only seen a natural Axis in person, and only seen pictures of the cherryburst and honeyburst online and they both look great. However most the pictures seem to be taken with a flash, which I worry exaggerates things quite a bit.

So for those of you who've seen them, I'm curious which is your favorite? Is one a more subtle finish than the other? Does one "pop" out more than the other?

Do they both look equally good with quilt or flame tops? (I've been told that I can't request quilt or flame in my order -- bummer!).

thanks for humoring me!

jeff

p.s. if you feel like posting a pic of your cherry or honey in here, it would be fun to see direct comparisons.

That's a tough one!

The colours have certain tonal similarities, and up to so many months ago I would have said cherrybust for sure. Now I side on Honeyburst as I find it a little more timeless and conservative looking!

But either way you're guaranteed to be super happy!!!! :)

I would go honeyburst but what about natural ?

I thought long and hard about that: I love the natural... but... I think it needs the rosewood fretboard to balance it out. And since every guitar I've ever owned has been rosewood, I'm determined to get a maple neck this time.

I wasnt so sure about cherryburst till i saw an AL in this finish. The graduation between the red and yellow was gorgeous so i say cherryburst.even more so with a maple board.also a lot more honeybursts about if you still hanker after one once you get the cherryburst.

Wow - it's neck and neck (no pun intended) at 12 votes each.

At the moment I think I'm leaning towards cherry, just because it looks a little more fun. On the other hand, Rob's honeyburst looks amazing.

Decisions, decisions.

When you say Cherry Burst, do you mean Black Cherry Burst?

(I'm not sure if there is a Cherry Burst or maybe there was one in the past?)

Anyway, if you mean Black Cherry Burst, I say go for that.
