Hey Guys, I'm new to EBMMs and after owning the Al HH for 4 days I returned it for the JP6 /piezo Redburst. The AL is a bad ass guitar and will buy one in the future, but for my needs the JP6 fits it best and I love it. I bought it new at GC but noticed there was no demo stuff or polish cloth in the case. Should I have had some of those things or does it depend on the store?

Just curious cause the AL had some demos of the string wipes and a few other welcome things.

Also I don't think the trem is set up correctly because when I pull up on it it only goes up a half step. This was the only JP they had so I couldn't compare trem set ups. I've been reading that the trem should be flush to the body and mine is definitely not flush. So I'm gonna need to get it set up. I know GC now does guitar set ups but dunno how competent they are.

Anyway I'm really enjoying it the way it is now, so when its set correctly I will probably faint because of its awesomeness.

Cheers!!:D

I recently bought a new JP6 and inside the case was a sample of all 3 wonder wipes and a couple of bumper stickers inside a sealed package. In addition there was a schematic of the pickups and selector switch.

The trem should be perpendicular with the top surface of the guitar (in other words it should set level and not be tilted to the back or front).

I too recently bought a JP6 from GC. The setup on the guitar was non-existent.

First off, the trem on the JP6 is a floating design and so pulling up on the bar will yeild the result you are experiencing.

Read all the items in the FAQ for Musicman guitars. There is a lot of good info there. I also watched a Youtube on setting the neck that was very helpful. It took me a couple of attempts to get all the adjustments on mine just right, with string height, trem spring tension and neck relief. I changed the strings from 10s to 9s, btw. I came from having Floyd Rose tremolos. Having a trem that had this many ways to get the setup right was amazing. If GC had set this guitar up like I have it now, it probably would have sold sooner.

Cheers.

Thanks for your replies guys. Yes I knew it was a floating trem and after reading the FAQ i realized its not set right and I should be able to to pull back farther than a half step.

In my case I didn't find anything like that, I'm lucky that I got the actual Petrucci Case.
