My beautiful Blue Dawn SR5 now has its first scratch...actually several scratches...looks like somehow I must have scraped it against the zipper of my gig back...it's on the top of the body where my arm rests...Trying not to obsess, but it's tough. :-(

I feel 'ya...the first time is the hardest, and if we could only turn
back the hands of time....("I will now gently remove the instrument from the gigbag...)
OTOH, my very skilled tech has little or no respect for any instrument without battle scars, calls them "museum pieces"
or "collector's basses" or even "little girl's dollies" & such.
He's a harsh dude.
You'll get over it.:D

A good reason to buy a good case to protect a good instrument. You'll never prevent normal "usage" scratches, but to damage your bass when in transit by relying on a gig bag is senseless.

All the marks on my SR5 are on the headstock from moving about too exuberantly :)

EXCEPT ONE which is a mark my guitarist left after smacking his headstock into my body! I was gonna kill him, but let it go cause I decided I'd just get him back. ;)
