Every time I bust out my Tacoma Thunderchief, I can see everyone's eyes think, "oh, great. An acoustic bass." But *every* time, they comment on how *good* it sounds. (It really does). Besides actually sounding great, the Thunderchief plays like butter. It's a really great acoustic bass.

MK Dragonfly Fretless +1 - Get the 4 string as the low B is about 1/2 the volume of the rest of the strings and would be better off without it. ;)

I have an incredibly beautiful blue fretless MK Firefly 4 string in mint condition that I'd be willing to part with for $300 if anyone is interested. I don't have a pic but if you scroll down this page you can see the same bass - xcept mine's a 32 inch scale which I believe makes it a little warmer sounding than the 34.
