I had some spare parts laying around and decided to put them to use.
I had the idea to build an acrylic stingray because i LOVE stingrays but I also love the look of EGC instruments.
The bass is very heavy, around 13 lbs and sounds like a stingray in the main regions.
Of course nothing beats the original and I'm aware of that ...
This is my "modern" tribute to the greatest bass ever, something unique, and a wink to the cutlass basses from back in the day.
- The bridge is an OG from 1987
- The neck is an OG status MM4 with serial and with musicman logo
- Bassline humbucker
- Pre-amp that was modeled after the 2 band EQ's
Built by elinore guitars.
It's NOT perfect, the luthier made a few mistakes but it's 95% good to me.
The contouring was a bit much on the armrest and the bridge has a 1mm imbalance to it. Barely noticeable.
