Tommy, would that be with single coil or MM90's?

I'm gonna bet that Tommy says MM90s.

I played all of the AL's at the open house, and they impressed the hell out of me.
The MM90s sounded better than I would ever have imagined, and the SSS model was just as amazing.

You guys were able to get good clean tones from the headphone set up?

I didn't plug in. But I remember trying it at Namm and had trouble finding a preset in those little korg units (if that's what was still being used).

yea i found one.....it had a lot of compression on it that went away if you backed off the volume a little.....

i understand why the albert is dudley's fav.
a country or blues dream guitar.

Yeah, I found a setting called "Chorus" on those Korgs that sounded nice. Like Tommy said, it used compression, but was still a nice little patch to play thru.

Glad you feel for the AL, nicest toy in my selection. :D

I gotta say that I would really struggle to decide how to order up an AL. I think it's the MM model with the most possibilities between pickups, color, pickguard, etc. to come up with a cool, one of a kind guitar.

I think having both is the only real answer for you, Tommy. If your dream is cream, it's gotta be MM90s- unless it's CUSTOM...

thank you !
& thank god for the tascam phrase trainer !!!!!!!!!! luckily ..vinnie had a cd of just the drums , bass , & second guitar part that he uses for clinics for me to borrow.
only had 3 days to learn vinnie's 3 tunes.......of only 2 we did.......
we did get almost an hour of rehearsal in sat. afternoon...as if my sensory overload wasn't high enough already !!!!!!!
when the idea was first in front of me it seemed doable !!!!!! but like cliff diving ............it looks ALOT higher when you climb up (which was the sat. rehearsal w/ vinnie , larue , & john) there & look down.
it's the first time i been nervous about playing in a LONG time !!!!!!

Yeah, but you sounded great!

I've been reading about your dilemna - AL vs (or in spite of) Y2d.

Anyway,

If there's ever a Tommy Alderson signature guitar,

I'll definitely buy one.
