check the FAQ

I will quote here from the FAQ at http://www.ernieball.com/site/faq_guitar.php

but you really might want to check the whole FAQ, as it may answer other questions that you may have. You don't get any tools with a Petrucci. You can use a 3.5mm allen wrench to adjust the truss rod, or anything else that will fit.

Thus spake the FAQ:

Q: What is the best way to adjust the action on my Music Man guitar?
A: The best and easiest way to adjust your action is to use the truss rod. To lower your action, turn the wheel clockwise. To raise your action, particularly if you have fret buzz, turn the wheel counter clockwise. It is always a good idea to make just one or two turns at a time, then play it and see if it needs more adjustment. It normally doesn't take many turns of the wheel to notice a difference.

A "turn" as defined here is inserting an adjustment tool and moving a spoke of the wheel from one side of the neck to the other side.

Though I've heard that there is the possibility of EB revisiting this info on the FAQ to include raising (or lowering) the saddles as the case may be.

Hi Zakk, you should get a free set up from the store you bought it from too, when I was a guitar newbie, I made sure when they did it that I asked exactly how they did it. Plus I pestered them with a bunch of other questions on maitenance etc. , any store worth its while will be okay with that.
