hey guys...
I have a EBMM Albert Lee that I want to make the neck a bit more thin, maybe add a slight V to it.
Has anyone sanded down one of these?
I played a friend's AL that had a definite thinner and more V'd neck.

So, basically I'm wondering if the truss rod is in the same place no matter what the thickness is.
If so I can sand it down to be like my friend's AL.

BUT, if the truss rod is centered specific to that specific neck ... the I might not be able to sand it down as much.

IF that makes sense!

THANKs ahead of time for any help and advice!

I agree with the trade it for a luke thought... But only because it's a mod your can't reverse. If you love the guitar enough to consider modding it like that, what happens when you don't like the new neck profile? Start with a profile you Love then mod the guitar to taste.

I've never played a production Albert Lee guitar that had a V'd neck???

I've played quite a number of Al's too.

The only thing I have noticed are some subtle differences which are down to the final hand sanding manufacturing process.

For example my Limited Edition Albert (my only one with a rosewood board and maple neck) feels more like a D profile than a C profile. I lightly sanded the neck and it's more to my liking. With regard to the truss rod placement - I think that can only be answered by Customer Service?

From what I know, the necks are all shaped on a CNC-machine after the truss rod is inserted and the fretboard is glued back on. So the basic position of the trussrod is the same on every instrument of a specific model. The difference in neck shape can only come from the final sanding of the neck which is done by hand.
You can get quite a good mipression of the process from this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q_oXBvr8AhU
