A few weeks ago I bought a Super Sport (brand new). Because of my doubt on playing bass or guitar, I decided (after taking both a guitar and a bass lesson) to focus 100% on bass. Ok, cool, but I just bought the Super Sport.

Right now, I'm trying to sell it for a few weeks now. It just stands there in my room, unplayed. I tried to sell it on several places (this forum, and a few Dutch websites). I never ever get any serious reaction and I'm starting to wonder what might be going wrong?! Is it the time of year? Still the economical crisis? Is my price too high? I also tried to trade it for a Silo Special (which more people like) or an AL, in hope that it would sell quicker, but also no luck.. :(

I'm gonna start with bass lessons in January, and because I don't have any other funds, and needing bass, I bought a 100 bucks plywood bass. It really frustrates the crap out of me because I have a very very very nice guitar standing in the corner of my room, and I'm playing a plywood crapaware bass. :p I'm already starting to look at other brands to compromise, but actually I want to stay with the brand I prefer.

Any wordd on advice would mean a lot! :)

...I just checked your offer....and cannot see the pics :(

Also, 1400 might not be the best offer for our knucklehead brothers...but is okay if the axe is really like new. Have you tried to go back to the dealer you got it from, to maybe make an arrangement (change ASS against EBMM Sterling, maybe demo, or similar...)?

So, after all, if you really want to get rid of it, you might want to turn to EvilBAY  ....best before Christmas ;)

Evilbay is not really what I have in mind. Yes, the guitar is like brand new. Played it maybe 3 times for 10 minutes or so. ;) Price is 1300 btw.

The dealer I bought it from doesnt have any basses in stock (well, not EBMM's :( ).

Thanks for the reply though!

Have you posted it on the dark side....eeerrrrhhh....I mean, the bass player section of this forum also? Maybe there is some weird Euro-Knucklehead-Four-String-Brother that wants to swap one of his 15 Sterlings and Stingrays for a cool ASS

The market works. Either you've priced it too high or you're not exposing it to enough potential buyers.

I understand you don't want to go the eBay route, but you get a lot more traffic than posting it here. I've had several guitars not sell here and then seen significantly more money from eBay.

...absolutely support that. I'm currently having an eye on a few EBMM products on ebay.de, and they are selling quite okay at the moment. Maybe it's better to try it on the German site, as there's much more potential customers.

There's also guitarmaniacs.de...they have a "for sale" area there. However, you need to know a little german to create an account. Or you send me the pics and I post it on my account for you...if you're willing to do that.

Your guitar looks great.. the color and the figure of the wood is just beautiful. I probably would buy it if I hadn't just bought an ASS BFR.

1299 are OK IMO... maybe a tad lower. Bought a JP6 with matching headstock and piezo in mint condition for 1400. And my used Silo (8 years old) was around 1100.

Knuckleheadprice could be 1199 euro, but that only for member with more than 100 posts. I would like for this guitar to stay in the family so. :)

I'm totally new to selling stuff on Ebay, and what I have read just now, is that I have to pay a lot to sell something there?!

e.mate, If you are willing to do that, that would be great. The pictures I have from the guitar are in the for sale thread. :)

It’s probably not selling due to a combination of factors you mentioned but irrespective of the market conditions, timing etc, it will sell if the price is right. I guess it comes down to how much of a hit you’re willing to take on the guitar. Although we can’t discuss street prices on new guitars, your price of 1300 is not far off the price of a new ASS in the UK (and hence available to for European shipping).

Whilst listing it on the EB forum is preferable for a quick and easy sell, you’re advertising to a limited (Euro) market, I’d list it on eBay with BIN price with a Best Offer option in order to generate some interest.

Sorry if this isn’t the answer/advice you want to hear but I’d take the hit on the guitar and use the funds to get a near mint EB bass.

ReB87- you asked for help, but you're now using this thread to sell your guitar. That's why there's a f/s thread ;)
