build date of bass please

hi i'v just bought a natural stingray 5 serial number 51532. how old is she? its the most beautiful thing i'v ever bought but its got dogdy sercuitry! keeps going really loud an producing an overdriven sound!! any sujestions?

Built 5/90

The distortion could be a number of things. If all the controls are turned up, the output can distort your amp. The electronics may have developed a problem. It's difficult to tell without seeing/ hearing the bass.

I would suggest having a tech take a look.
