Finally got a chance to rehearse with the new AL. I had forgotten how great single coil pickups sound (except for the hum when you stop playing). Now that I have gotten this thing up to volume I must say I am way impressed. All of the positions were usable as the guitar has a nice high-mid range. I actually used the bridge pickup the LEAST of all including distorted tones. I use a Vox AC30 model for my dirty work and the two sound amazing together. Total honk. My big thing has always been using the EQ, not the volume to be heard and this guitar nails it.
I don't want to take away from my ASS as it also sounds amazing (and I actually prefer the FEEL of it more) as well, but as you all know, they are totally different beasts.

OK, so now you guys have to turn me on to an AL or ASS with 90's so I can have the full tonal experience. That was a hint, someone sell me their's.:D

Pics are forthcoming. I'm waiting on my pickup covers.
yeah, I missed out on the last AL with 90's. Even Musicians Friend has them on back order. The last one I saw had a piezo which I'm not looking for. So keep your eyes peeled.
