Can anyone tell me the factory pick up height on an AL? I am assuming that the measurement is taken from to top of the string to the top of the pup. Also, I've never actually seen an AL other than my own so I rely on pictures for info and from what I've seen, magnets on AL pups are flat. Mine are raised but I know that my pups are the original Duncans. Any thoughts?

Flat pole pieces mean they are level relative to each other, but not necessarily even with the pup cover. The neck and middle poles may be slightly above the cover (while the bridge may be even with the cover) but they should be level (or real close) relative to each other if they are original.

If they were staggered poles it would be truly noticeable with the B almost buried in the cover relative to the G & D. This was due to the original round radius and heavy string guages standard on the original strats & teles

Kind of like this:
........I
.....I..I.....I
...I I..I..I..I
I..I.I..I..I..I
E A D G B E

With respect to actual measurements, I've never done it but you might want to check the FAQ or music-man site to see if they are listed.

Or... just ask beej ;)
