phat, I love that vid, and BP kicks ass on it too.

I dunno, guys, you're wearing down my resistance with this AL business. Love the sunburst model, like the one which started this thread.

I do have one concern, though, the fatter neck of the AL. The Silos fit me like a glove. Any other smaller handed players with AL's out there?

I think the Al is the most overlooked guitar ever,
I let everyone I play with try it out and they just
rave about the total package!!!!

Sweet AL Phatduckk!!!

I've owned a Silo and a SUB 1 (which has a similar or identical neck profile as the Silo) and I now own an AL (and I have small hands...so I know where you are coming from). I think I actually prefer the neck of the AL.....it is a little beefier than the Silo, but is not too fat to manage or get around quickly.....in fact I find it extremely comfortable and is a super fast playing neck (like the Silo)....plus I think it sounds great. If you are into bands like Dire Straits or the Stones (like I am)...the guitar really can't be beat.

I'm on the other end of the hand size spectrum but I don't think hand size should be an issue. The AL neck may be a bit beefier than the Silo, however I would not consider it a thick neck relative to other guitars. It's got a smaller feel than tele's or G&L's I pick up in my local shop.

Athough I loved the overall EB neck feel, I originally thought it was too small when I first picked one up. Took me several returns to the store to really sell me. Now it's just kind of melded with me. I am still getting used to the smaller silo.

Try the AL, Live the dream. :)

I have to agree with Jabba, I have 2 AL's and 2 sub's and small hands,
the AL neck is super!!!I think IMHO the AL neck feels smaller than my
sub necks, but thats just me!!

Phatty, that is a great neck man and a wicked story to go with it.

No lets talk about the pictures of Phil's Silo Bass, I don't seem to see them anywhere????

Glenn |B)

ill email him and see if i can get him to sign up and post some pics. im pretty certain that convincing him to buy guitars is way essier than convincing him to sign up here and post pics... but ill do my best. no promises

im a pretty small dude and the neck on the 20th silo and the AL are both super comfy to me. but truth is that im really a bassist so not many guitar necks feel big to me after comparing them to what im normally used to

my ceo jeff (FuzzFunk on the board) likes the neck on the AL the best out of the 20th, Axis and Luke. he's not a big dude either. YMMV
