On Friday 17 April I went to Swindon Arts centre to see Big Al and found that I had a seat right in front of him.

Big Al had flown in the night before from LA and said that his "head hadn't quite sorted itself out yet !"

Thought I'd post some pics. - I'll be seeing him again on May 4th, 15 mins from where I live.

Great pics Spud...Al even put a suit on for you I see. Last time I saw him I was front row in front of his keyboards...couldn't see anything past it through the first set it, had to go stand up the back to get a view :D Hoping to see him myself again on May 16th

Foggy - I'll mention it to his bass player when I see them again on the 4th May

Purpleass - you're seeing him on the 16th - where is he playing?

LeftyG - Big AL always amazes me how clean his playing is(free of errors) which is amazing considering his style.

Luv - I took an SLR but the standard lens doesn't have the aperture suited for music venues, and focusing is a bu88er!! - oh yeah come and join the ALOC?

JJ -the bald guy is the Steel guitar player Gerry Hogan - but I couldn't see much of him as Big Al's Big piano was in the way !!!

Colinboy - Big Als playing like 10 -15 mins walk from where I live - so I'll be "opening the envelope" again soon!

DS
- he must be a "closet maiden fan" as he "flicked the horns" too!

I'll be taking more of the band on May 4th and hopefully will get Big Al to sign the rear of the headstock of my LEAL.

Great Pics Spud, thanks for sharing. The stage seems to be rather big compared to when I saw Big AL in Munich in March. Does Big AL fill bigger venues over there on the Island?

That was a really small venue - I have a picture taken from the back of the auditorium which I'll post later (I'm doing a diy project at the mo!)

Tell me Banjoplayer - in the 70's my band did a 2 week residency in a club in Munich - following on from AC DC and before Japan. The name of the club was the PN Club in Schwabing (excuse the spelling?) - any idea what happened to that club?

Hi Spud, your spelling is correct, but I can´t tell you anything about the PN club as I´m not from Munich itself. I live in Ulm, 120km from Munich. Sorry, not heard of the PN before.

I searched the web a bit, but couldn´t find a hint, that the club is still there. Maybe you want to ask Forumite "Axilla". He lives in Munich.

I found some PN-related links: [ame="http://www.amazon.de/gp/product/3896026208/ref=s9_sims_gw_s1_p14_t1?pf_rd_m=A3JWKAKR8XB7XF&pf_rd_s=center-2&pf_rd_r=18BJZJA9MKDVR2ZDGFGK&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=463375173&pf_rd_i=301128"]A book about AC/DC with pics from their PN-Gig[/ame],
an article about a photographer who madehis living during the 60s with taking pictures of the gigs in the PN,
some infos on sub-bavaria.de, and something from you, Spud ;)

btw. Cool story.. you in Munich in the 70s !!!

Hey Banjo player
Nice links!!

man that AC DC book looks interesting but costs a lot of money!!

Would you know whether that German photographer has a book out that contains his PN Club photos?

Seeing AL at The Hailsham Pavillion , East Sussex on May 16th, a nice 200 seater very similar to the Swindon venue. Also thanks to a 'headsup' from Catdaddy, I've got tickets to see Little Feat in two weeks time at the Indigo2...part of the 02 arena. Didn't even know they were still going !!
