Hello,
I’m wanting an AL sss. Found one from 95 without the silent circuit. Price is good. Looking for opinions on if I should go for it or the newer ones with the silent circuit. Thanks in advance.

the earlier ones are in NO way worse than the newer!
I have an 94 AL without silent circuit and it´s probably my best guitar in terms of resonance. it is not very noise because the pickups are very good and the build quality too. never missed the silent circuit.

You won’t regret it. Yeah the silent circuit is great, but the beauty of that guitar is in the rest of the package. Pickups, should you not be 100% happy are an easy change. I think however you’ll have no regrets with the pickups anyway, even without the silent circuit. Btw, silent circuits sometimes come up for sale on their own

Agree with all of that. The two I have are pre-Silent Circuit as well.

I've put Silent Circuits in a number of guitars that didn't have them, so you can always do that later if it's an issue. Also, the state of noiseless pickups is pretty good- so you might prefer to go that way instead.

You shouldn't worry AT ALL about the silent circuit. If there is an AL you like and can afford, just buy it! Now! Feel welcome to join us on the MM AL owners/enthusiasts on Facebook!

I'd buy a no "silent-circuit" any day. I'd pass on a "no-trem". But that's just me!
