Hi guys - I just got a new 5 way switch for my AL from Music Man, Part #M05428.(And a new White Pearl Pickguard)
When I took the old pickguard off, the old 5 way looks nothing like the new one.
Can anybody hook me up with a wiring diagram, becuase I'm lost!
Thank you!

Hi. Normally someone from customer service would be able to help but with it being the weekend I don't expect a reply from them until Monday at the earliest.

Fellow forumite Beej may be able to help. Sit tight and someone will be along to help.

show us some pics after it's all done?

Thanks for the reply.
I will post pics with the new guard in place when it's done.
I also need to get some pics up of my new premium top Y2D that arrived last week.

Thanks Andy, but I need the actual wiring diagram that shows me the technical info, because the new 5 way has about 20:confused: different connectors.
I hope this makes sense.

That exhausts my technical expertise (ie I have none). I assume you are changing the 5-way because it's broken....why not just get an exact replacement rather than this mystery thing with 20 different connectors?? Did they send the wrong part?

I guess you'll need to wait for someone who knows what they're talking about (all of whom are doubtless gigging now)

The 5 way is bad, I called AJ and got the part number for a replacement Albert Lee 5 way switch & then ordered it through the store where I work. So this should be the right one.

Man those diagrams scare me!!!

BEEJ !!!!!!!

Hey, I only posted the links, if ANYTHING needs soldering on one of my guitars it goes to a proper man. I understand the principle of soldering, just have no idea how it can be done with only 2 hands.

It sounds like you got an ASS superswitch rather than a basic one which you would use on an AL. I am sure CS will see you right.

Hey fellas! Just back from a week in Portugal ... I'm home for 24 hours then off to NYC for a few days ... (sheesh)

dougiefresh- I don't have access to all of my files right now, but the best bet is to email MM customer service. They will email you out the right diagram no problem ... that's were I've collected all of mine from.

If you have any problems PM me and I'll help ya out.

Just wanted to sing the praises of EB customer service here -
I dealt with Dan McPherson via email, and I did have the wrong 5 way switch.
He OVERNIGHTED me a new one on their dime, which is just way above and beyond IMHO.
Once I had the correct switch, wiring it up was a snap.
Thanks Dan & everyone at EB
Doug
