You did something wrong.

That's about as much help as I can offer you with the information you've provided.

Does the AL have Silent Circuit/battery compartment? If so, was that wired correctly or removed? If it was wired correctly, you may need to adjust the Silent Circuit sensitivity (a small screw thingy).

Which Fralins?

Ok, how did you wire them up? Same configuration as before?

Basically the ground of each pickup should go to the Silent Circuit. Neck & Bridge, blue wire. RWRP middle, violet wire. (CS can give you a wiring diagram if you ask nicely).

If they're wired up right, do you notice a difference when you pull/engage the battery? You should hear the noise level change (crank up the gain to make it obvious). If you don't hear anything, you've wired the SC up wrong.

If you do hear a difference but they still hum, you can adjust the trimpot on the SC and see how close to quiet you can get it.

If you adjust the SC and it's still too noisy, you are out of luck. The SC doesn't play well with all pickups, some work better than others depending on their strength.

i swapped my pickups out with some lindy fralins and im getting alot of humm whats wrong?

You put fralins in - if you leave it the way Sterling made it it'd all be fine..... sorrry for not helping - you could try contacting customer service but imagine taking your car to a garage and saying - I put a BMW engine in my merc and it's making a noise.....

Hey, I'm all for trying other pickups. My Albert has Bill Lawrences in it. Quieter than any of my humbucker equipped guitars now and still sounds great.

But, of course, it's hard to go the manufacturer and ask why the new ones don't work ...

chuckles...

I sorta think a guitar model reaches a new level of maturity when it's seen as a platform to build on. Also think it can't be anything but good for business.

Send me a pic of the wiring or take it to a local tech. No big thing I guess, a loose connection can make a lot of trouble.

Good luck

people can loose their way!

Smelly you sound like an integrist :)

I have no problem in customising an EBMM my ASS PBB is ready for surgery now

And I love what Beej did to his morse and what Norm did to his silo. Sometimes a small change can make a big diffrence in sound

the AL is a signature model, you can love the sound as it is from EBMM factory or you can try to find your own sound
