Hi,

Could somebody tell me if there are any reasons NOT to get the piezo option with an Albert Lee (besides money) for either a tremolo version or hardtail version AL?

...to truly understand how the feeling of regret affects the human brain. :)

Dude, if you're ordering a guitar new, you cannot pass go, you cannot collect $200...you HAVE to get a piezo. It is a thing of beauty, and you can't go wrong with it.

The only reason for NOT getting a piezo with an AL would be if you wanted a less versatile guitar! :)

Heck, for the $$$ you may as well open up the additional possibilities. I love the piezo on my Petrucci, even though I don't necessarily use it a lot. It's just nice to have the option, and I can leave my acoustic at home.

I'd say that if you already have a guitar with one that may be a reason not to get it.

But someone (steveB maybe?) said it best recently that they never heard of anyone regretting getting the piezo option.

Hi
I am also going to order an AL and I have thought about the Piezo option too.

I haven't played an AL with a Piezo but I did try out another MM guitar last Friday.

When the shop owner managed to figure out the piezo by tapping the mag pick ups with a screwdriver as soon as the piezo came in it was as if someone had hit me in the stomach - man the sound was awesome especially through an acoustic amp.

I was also perplexed by the additional cost in the UK for the guitar and the piezo option (plus a trem, plus a particular pickguard, plus extra for a burst etc, etc) but the piezo option is one i will definately be going for.

Watch out later for my posting on AL with Piezo as I have other issues - got to go out a mo !!

I tell yah I messed around with a JP with the piezo at the Open House and I wished that any of my guitars had it. I think I have to agree with everyone else, if you can afford it, get it!! I have an AL and wish mine had the piezo, after using it on the JP i thought that it might be nice to have that sort of option.

Get it, better to have it than not have it and then all of a sudden want it.

Yeah, I played NorM's JP that has a piezo, as well as the blue AL that was there at the OH with the same, and I want, I want, I want.

So I wouldn't use it all the time; it's good to have the option available, as mentioned above.
