Well...
it's going to be quite the night! In exactly two hours i get to go to an Albert Lee clinic. I was invited on Sunday to go to this clinic for about 20-30 people. I'm so stoked... i'll let y'all know how it goes!

WOW~
this has got to be one of the coolest nights ever. The evening was for 25 VIP guests only and was a very intamate evening with one Albert Lee. It was more than I expected. Al spent about 2 and a half hours talking about his gear set-up (including the development of his signature guitar) and his gear set-up and even went out of the way to throw out a few trick tips. I've never seen a guy fly down the neck and back up as fast and as clean and as sharp as Mr. Lee. I seriously think he can run a scale up and down the fretboard faster than I can go from a G chord to a D chord (And I can do that quite fast)...

Al even had a small meet and greet after the clinic. Given that I'm related to some folks at my local shop I was able to hang a little bit longer than everyone else. WOW! Probably the most HUMBLE guy I've ever met in my life!

Hope he makes it to SLO in sept.
I haven't heard enough (almost none) of his playing.

Keith - pick up Heartbreak Hill which is his most recent solo effort - good listening. I also believe the EB Radio features one of the tracks Luxury Liner and instrumental with AL, Brad Paisley and Vince Gill.

According to his website, AL will be in rehearsal for a Bill Wyman Europoean tour and at an Eddie Cochran festival at the time of the open house, with the tour starting on the 20th.

Actually for some reason Albert Lee's music doesn't work on the EBMM radio. Derek knows about it and hopefully it will get fixed soon...I too am dying to hear AL :D

My cable tv subscription has this thing called Mag Rack which is a "video magazine" kinda thing. There's some guitar instruction available and also interviews with artists. Well, last month they had Albert Lee on there - he was unreal. The interviewer was like "so, if you were going to play something like <blah blah> and end up on <blah blah>, how would it sound?" And then Albert would just rip it out - crazy...

We will look into the Albert Lee tracks on the EB radio and get them fixed.

Sadly Albert will be missed at the Open House. He will be in Europe with Bill Wyman
through the whole month of September.

Ah crap man, I was hoping to see him. He didn't come that far north for the set of clinics.

Can anyone from the EBMM staff comment on that GIG if you were there?

BP...
Thanks for taking the time out of your busy Pre-NAMM Rush to stay in contact with the Forum. I wasn't expecting to hear from you while you were in Indie!

This really is the coolest spot on the NET. I've been accused of being "HOOKED" on this site... GUILTY AS CHARGED!

Thanks Big Poppa and EBMM Staff.
