I haven't seen Albert Lee playing his pinkburst in a while. I've mainly seen him play a blue AL with a trem lately.

I posted to a thread (quite some time ago now) that Albert Lee sold his Pinkburst and raised one hell of a lot of money for Charity. I googled it tonight but couldn't find anything.
I can also confirm what goldsilo says - I've seen him twice this year and he plays his signature guitar avec tremelo.

When I saw him at the clinic in Toronto he was playing whatever AL the store sponsoring the clinic had in stock. He just travelled up here with a couple of CD's of his backing tracks and used the equipment specified in his rider.

He mentioned that he uses an AL with the trem set up to float and that he bends the bar to bring it closer to the body.

I like this one better and I'm curious the title is "Fun Ranch Boogie". BP was this written at your place?

Glenn,

I asked BP about this awhile ago after I bought The Best Of Albert Lee songbook, here's the his reply :D

actually here is the story

Our house in slo is called the fun ranch....whenever any one comes over there is a great meal and obligtory jamming.....one of the off the cuff ones is the fun ranch boogie.

Albert only writes with solar eclipses and Guitar Player asked Albert to do a sound page...
I was asked to play but was busy so Albert called my old friend Freebo and John ferraro....they said what are we going to do and Al says lets just do this little fast two beat. They played it and both John and Freebo werre laughing at Albert. He asked why and they said you just nicked fun ranch boogie! Al said oh dear! Albert had aded a new bridge so I got "posthumous writing credit"!

Very Cool indeed Rob... :)

There was a time when I knew a few country licks... even played on a Country Western TV show for over a year, called the Morris Taylor Show in Chico, CA.
It was a 'hee-haw' type of show, can you believe it ... ;)

But that was a while back & I would really have to dig dip to remember & re-learn those kind of licks, since I rarely have call for them these days..
However, I truly love that style of playing, too...

In fact, it's the Vince Gill model EMG's I have in my Luke (not the David Gilmore model)... Since I play mostly funk & jazz these days, I've found these EMG's to be cleanist... but actually ya know, in funk, the clean tones used are very close the same one's in C & W...
