Well,
An old band mate came over and jammed today for a couple of hours. When we played last summer he was playing a strat, and he told me a couple of days ago that he had bought a used '52 reissue tele.

So naturally I had the Albert out when he came over (along with my new Luke).

He brought his tele...which he ended up playing for only about 1/2 an hour.
The other 1 1/2 hours he played the Albert. ;)

One of his comments was, "What the Hell is the name of this guitar?"
Another was, "Can I buy it off you?"

It sounded better, he thought it felt better, and it wasn't nearly as noisy as his tele either.

I've owned a '52 Reissue... also a Muddy Waters, a Nashville and a really sweet early '80s Squier that really sang... The Muddy was probably the best "workman" guitar of the lot, but at around 8 lbs. I thought it was a bit heavy... The '52 Reish was less than 7 lbs. and really rang, but the neck was tacky and the frets were tiny and really, who wants to mod a guitar like that? I dropped some Duncans in the Squier and it was a real player - it didn't go until after the AL arrived... Now I've only got the AL, and I don't miss the others at all, though I was glad to know them. ;)

Another believer, eh Keith? Great!

Did you direct him to this forum? Once he's here, it's only a matter of time until he orders his very own Albert Lee.

I can understand completely. I just got my Albert Lee the first of this month. Since then, it's the only guitar I've picked up out of 11 other guitars I own. Me and the AL have a thang going on. :)

Also, he really like the shape of it.

And the contour thing on the Albert, as opposed to the straight plank, really wowed him.

Of course I told him about the open house. forgot to show him pictures. Doh!

Why thank you! As a few of you know, I hung around these parts quite a bit when I was hardcore wanting an AL. I went with another guitar at the time, but I'm so freakin' blessed to have found the AL of my dreams about a month ago. I'm just wow'd by this guitar. Couldn't be any happier! :)

The Albert Lee will honk, ring, chime, quack, spank ,twang and chicken pick.

Also 2 extra notch positions compared to the tele he brought over. Those are the money positions imo...well, those and 1,3,and 5.
