I wish they would because then I’d sell my American Pro II.

I was first exposed to the world of EBMM whilst on a Reverb journey to procure an amplifier from a kind gentleman who lived down a long dirt road in rural Central Texas. He had the Cutlass HT. I’d never seen one of these in person before. And I’m not even a Strat guy. I played it. Was totally blown away by the action, the translucent neck, the sparkling finish which resembled an exotic car. And the tone? Simply next level. A fatter, better version of SSS Strat tone with superior playability.

Following that experience, I immediately bought a Valentine model after seeing it on the Wildwood site and learning that it most approximates a Tele in the current lineup. A Tele with a humbucker, that is. Simply blown away by the instrument. Remaining in my mesmerized state and recalling the Cutlass HT, I ordered an identical one to the one I played. I’ve now sold all my other guitars other than that American Professional II Tele. If EBMM formally releases a Tele clone, I’d pre-order on Day 1, list my Tele, and never look back. Nobody makes a finer electric guitar than EBMM….

I'm plenty happy with the Valentine as their Tele contender. It would definitely be interesting to see what they come up with if they wanted to do something more visually Telecaster than that but honestly I'm pretty happy with them leaving it alone beyond where they took it with the Valentine.

As an aside, I love PRS's take on the Tele with the NF53. It's a little weird that it's billed as inspired by a 1953 Tele while clearly a La Cabronita remake, but they definitely hit it out of the park. I would hope that if EBMM were to do one, they'd take it in a sideways direction like PRS did rather than a slavish dedication to the original.

A few have converted Axis Sports or Albert Lee's into a Telle Style guitars. Do a search for Tele.

If they released a hard tail Cutlass with Tele pickups, it’d be close enough, IMHO - though it would be nice to see a modified body shape to be more Tele-like. I can’t imagine them using a tradition Tele bridge though.

I'm reminded of the Parker Southern Nitefly many years ago, where it was a hybrid design between a Fly and a Tele - though obviously EBMM's version wouldn't look anything like that. I'm just imagining a hybrid between the Cutlass and a Tele.

best option might be find a used Silhouette special and put in a tele neck pickup and bridge pickup. I'm pretty sure some companies make tele style pickups that will fit a strat.

Definitely NOT mine! Can’t remember where I saw it. Grabbed the photos as I thought it was really cool.

Which other one?

EDIT: just examined the photo again. G-bender. Black paisley finish. I think this was a one off for Brad Paisley.

Great posts, all! I actually owned the NF53, the Myles Kennedy version in fact. And it still isn’t as good as my American Professional II. But you know what? I guarantee you the EBMM version would be superior.

EBMM: don’t play games. Just literally clone the Tele like Suhr, Nash, G&L, Larivee, Tyler and all the rest have done. But the combination of your silky necks, quiet pickups, and touch boost will win the day. Guaranteed. Call it the Ballcaster, or the Outlaw, the Deluxe, or the Standard, or the C&W, or the Western. Doesn’t matter. Just do this, please!
