Allow me, if you will a brief statement of thanks to the EBMM Forum-(Music Man Basses; I don't care about the rest, really..)

This is a place where I could post of how I felt about playing my Mahogany Bongo, particularly how the awesome Bird's-Eye neck felt. Looks- yeh, whatever, but FELT- Oh my.

See, many musicians I've worked with etc. have said and will say, "That's a NICE" bass!" but really, they don't have a clue. Not really.

My wonderful Nancy Lee, THE love of my life, frankly, between us, she could care less (about my "silly toys")- and I understand! She teaches Calculus and likes the music of Johny Mathis, there's a lot on her plate...

But here- when I make a statement like that, (about the Mahogany Bongo) I KNOW there are those who get it and do understand, maybe even care! (Or at least covet that bass..)

So thanks to BP for providing this Forum and thanks to the fanboi members who know a damn good bass when they see one or play one.

That's about it, I guess!:D

I want your Mahogany Bongo. Exactly how did you go about getting that nice little one off bass?

This is certainly a great forum.

Very kewl Forum, lots of fun, very little drama and practically no hate.

The bass-
I LURKED- Because I have a large number of awesome basses, ( and 2 Balls, as it should be...) I only VIEW most Mfr. Forums. And when I read the posting about last year's BPL having several one-off Basses available, I jumped on that,
happily purchasing that incredible instrument, and joined when it was demanded that he who bought the Hog Bongo step forth and reveal himself.
Since then I've played the Bongo (and my Sterling H) on a number of engagements, blowing a number of minds, and have posted here, jumping into the fray and adding my .02 on what's what.

NOWHERE ELSE on the airwaves or terra firma will I have a more empathetic bunch who understands just how sweet the Birds'-Eye Maple neck is.

So sweet.
So...Mahogany.

So....Bongo.

So... EBMM.

Ya know?:D

Yeah, it really is great hanging here.

And so much to learn!

I always thought that the "extra" string on top was in case one broke the E string; you'd have a spare...

Now you're telling me it's a "low-B" that you speak of!

Whaaa? Why?
(I kid...I kid...I know all about the positions etc. etc...)

No really! WHY?

:D

That Bongo having only 4 strings...

Do they make Basses with MORE than 4 strings??

Why?

You know that that Bongo is sweetness, and we agree!

The Ma(bongo)hogany IS sweetness personified, but after review, I must add that I didn't start the thread to "crow" over this bass- I mean...I didn't build it, MM did! I just lurked like a sniper GI Joe and BAM! Had GC buy it for me w/ my C/C!

What I hoped to relate was---This is really the ONLY place where others really know what Balls are about. Yes- my fellow players say, "Nice Bass, sounds/looks good!" but c'mon-They play Guitars! Or Drums! or Keys!!!

What's up with that?

Not everyone is blessed (like us) to GET the bass guitar; we know it's the Boss, it's the foundation, it;s the leader. If we don't sound good, YOU don't sound good.
So before I blab any more-

This is a kewl hang, we know what's up here, and for those of you that have Roasteds coming, particularly the Big AL Fretted 4- A REAL Bass-

Damn you.

See, I knew somebody was awake when I was talking about the credit card thing! :D

Someday MM will build a Bongo fiver out of something exotic like mahogany ..... and I will be there, oh yes I will ......

EVERY forumoid. fanboi, ErnieBallMusicMan amongst us-
Each and Every-

Should have...Deserves to have...

The JOY of hearing the mighty Bongo, ruler of the Bass Domain, as done in Mahogany w Birds'-Eye Maple neck.

The vibrations from the tonewoods combined with BongoGuts-

Think of.... ( I was gonna say s-e-* w/ Megan Fox, Kim Kardashian, & Halle Berry at the same time, but none of them have blend controls for their HH configuration.)

SO I SHOULD start a "Mahogany Bongo World Tour" wherein each Forumite (with over 50 posts) gets the instrument for a Week, then ships it on to the next, until it is finally returned to ME, so I can finish sending the CC company their payments!

It would be a fine thing! A wonderful, sharing, benevolent and spirit-filled gesture and exemplify what the MM Bass Forum is all about!

(ain't gonna happen!)

Truly!
