I tried branching out, tried new things & mixed things up but it didn’t work.

1st SR5 didn’t last too long . . 1st Bongo5HH lasted only a few months. Recently purchased TB SR5HH is now gone . . very quickly

Yesterday I went to check out a vintageburst SR4HH (been wanting a SR4HH)
It was great, almost bought it . . . but NO, I walked out with yet another single humbucker SR4 (which now brings me to a total of 4). And sold my SR5!!

Don’t know why exactly, I know I prefer the solo bridge pup tone, but HH’s can do that same tone and lots more . . but I love the plain old SR4 I think… the tone, the feel, the comfort, the looks, the space, the history, the simplicity .. no switches and only 4 knobs to fiddle with. It felt right to me and and pricing did not affect my decision.

Now I have 4 of the same exact same bass in different colors. . same body, electronics, fretboard . . . strange?

I've only got two, but they're the same except for finish. You know what you like, so you should have as many of them as you can afford. Diversity? You have all that in your fingers anyway.
I say: Moondog sane.

True, @ least I know it has 4 strings and a RW board;)

but i do think you're bit insane for passing on an HH
I could be insane but the SR4H was much lighter, had a better/
tighter neck pocket, the neck felt deeper and quicker for me.
It also looked better, grain + color (pics to follow)

FWIW, and I'm pretty sure it worth very little, I am taking my single hummer Bongo to the gig tomorrow night.

Which reminds me - time for some gigspam.

Anyway, embrace your single pickup love, man.

Strange? Yes! But, we embrace our strangeness. And here, we support each other's strangeness. But, IT'S NOT OUR FAULT we have this problem. We are rendered totally helpless by these amazing basses.

Now, I just need a SR4 HH...... LOL!:D

Perfectly sane! I love the good ol' 4-string Stingray with a single pickup. I'd have several of them if I could afford them!
