Wow my first video game, im 32 so i got the nes for xmas 1990, loved that game! And Djent has been around for awhile, not my cup of tea, its like a very heavy low tuned kinda stop and go palm mute style alot of kids are into, i like the fact that kids are still playing guitar! Even if its a style i dont particularly care for, and kids ....please stay far away from rap, nothing good goin on there, musically anyways.

Wow, I had to watch the Polyphia video twice in a row just to wrap my head around it. Thanks Benji - enjoy the show!

I don't like most djent bands anymore, I used to be quite into it but most of the bands from that genre that have progressed from it are my favorites. Periphery, Cloudkicker, The Contortionist, David Maxim Micic, Intervals.

Glad Polyphia moved away from it, their new sound is more memorable and easy to identify as them in the mids of other bands out there nowadays.

TC - when I saw this thread, my first thought was to post that SMB Djent video :)

It's a cool style of music, but in my opinion, it gets old quick. Even on the Super Mario Bros one I start to lose interest. It's fantastic how tight and rhythmic that genre is, but that's where I think Dream Theater does it right - they have a couple riffs that might be called 'djent-y' but it's more of a seasoning rather than the main course.

Yesterday I got the chance to be the translator of Tosin Abasi, which is a superb Djent guitarrist.

While he is a killer player (man, he RIPPED) his music is not my cup of tea. No melody, and the tone just sounds like a midi guitar IMHO...
